Cooking and food

Blazen, moving, official art
The short answer

There is no campfire and no adventure cooking menu in Aniimo. All of it happens inside the Homeland, your RV base: you place a facility, pick a production formula and assign Aniimo whose element matches the job, which for cooking means Fire. The food is not for you either. It fills the worker energy pool that keeps your Homeland staff going, and nothing we trust ties any food item to healing your party, raising a catch chance or speeding up an egg.

Get to a kitchen

  1. Reach Pathfinder Level 20 and finish Welcome Home, also called Prologue: The Wondrous RV. That opens the Homeland.
  2. Work through Act 1: Together with Aniimo, which unlocks the rest of the facilities.
  3. Place four Farmland plots. Farmland at Level 1 costs 10 Home Coins a plot.
  4. Upgrade the RV to Level 2. That is what unlocks the Kitchen Module, along with the Storage Unit, room for eight Aniimo and a higher daily order limit.
  5. Assign Fire Aniimo. Cooking, smelting and supplying heat is the Fire job, and a facility with no worker in a required job simply stops.
  6. Pick a production formula and let it run. Crops keep growing while you are logged out.

Soybeans are the best worker food, and they need a Level 3 Farmland plot, which makes that the upgrade worth rushing.

Where the ingredients come from

  • Farmland grows crops. Woodland grows trees and nuts. A Mineral Pile yields Rock.
  • Shop Robot BINI #2333 in the central service area hands out one free Wheat Seed a day and sells more from its Seed Shop tab.
  • Crops mutate. Sparkling, Colorful and Huge versions turn up, and the game's own text says the Huge ones can be collected, given to friends, or sold for a high price.
  • Fertilizer is a production item in its own right, described in game as suitable for production in warm environments.
  • Wheat's item text gives the only yield figure published anywhere we trust: one production yields 10 units, and the high speed recipe yields 15.
  • After RV Level 3, Component Upgrade in the RV Cabin takes the Ecological Module to Level 1 and unlocks Quick Formula: Wheat, which applies one formula to every selected plot at once.

What food does not do

Food in Aniimo feeds your Homeland workers, and nothing else. You top up their food bowl from the Food tab in Aniimo Management.

It does not heal you or your party in the field. To heal, visit Therapist Kim at an outpost, rest at a bonfire, use the Heal active skill or bring a Heal role Aniimo such as Flutternym or Skippy.

It does not raise a catch chance. Capture odds come from the Aniipod you throw, with Aniipod Pro at 1.5 times, Hyper, Mega and Trace at 2 times, and the Tumbler at 1.5 times or 3 times on an Aniimo gathered through nurturing. Food plays no part in it.

It does not speed up an egg. Hatching runs through the Hatchinator, and nothing we trust ties food to incubation time.

The one food that does something immediate is the Energizing Work Meal, an Epic Home Material whose in game effect is to instantly complete the current Aniimo work cycle.

What happens when the food runs out

Workers keep going without food, but slower and unhappy, and Aniimo neglected for too long can get sick. Stock the bowl before you plan a few days away.

The safe play is the same under all three: queue a batch whose duration fits how long you plan to be offline, and leave the bowl full before you go.

Selling what you make

Finished food and crops sell for Home Coins at the Home Co-op Store, with Annie at the counter. Order Robot BINI #2333 posts daily orders against them, of the shape Wolfie asking for 20 Wheat, and the RV Level 2 upgrade raises how many of those you can take.

Home Coins are what pay for the next plot, so a farm that only feeds workers is a farm that never grows.

Watch out

An Aniimo assigned to a facility cannot fight at the same time. If you want your best Fire attacker cooking, catch a second copy of it.

Not confirmed yet

  • Ingredient quantities for any specific dish. Every full recipe list we found sits on a datamined site we will not cite, so we publish none.
  • How long any individual crop or dish takes.
  • Whether the Kitchen Module at RV Level 2 and the Claw Game Cooker in the Build menu are the same facility under two names.
  • Whether cooking has a daily cap at all. The only daily limits we can confirm are the reset, one free Wheat Seed and the daily order limit.

Cooking and food, answered

How do you cook in Aniimo?

Inside the Homeland, not out in the world. Place a cooking facility, pick a production formula, and assign Fire Aniimo, whose Homeland job is cooking, smelting and supplying heat. The Kitchen Module unlocks when you upgrade the RV to Level 2.

Does food heal you in Aniimo?

No. Food feeds your Homeland workers. Healing in the field comes from Therapist Kim at an outpost, bonfires, the Heal active skill, or a Heal role Aniimo such as Flutternym or Skippy.

What is the best food in Aniimo?

By the numbers in the game's own item text, Soybeans at 12,500 energy, then Strawberry at 11,970 and Chestnut at 10,560. Soybean Seeds need a Level 3 Farmland plot.

Which Aniimo can cook?

Fire Aniimo. Each element has one Homeland job and Fire covers cooking, smelting and supplying heat. A formula with an unfilled job stops until you assign someone.

Does food increase catch rate in Aniimo?

No. Catch chance comes from the Aniipod: Pro at 1.5 times, Hyper, Mega and Trace at 2 times, and the Tumbler at 1.5 times, or 3 times against an Aniimo gathered through nurturing.

Where do you get seeds in Aniimo?

Shop Robot BINI #2333 gives one free Wheat Seed a day and sells the rest from its Seed Shop tab. Each seed also needs a plot at a given level, from Wheat at Farmland Level 1 up to Ginseng, Grape and Pumpkin at Level 5.

What happens if you do not feed your Homeland Aniimo?

They slow down and grow unhappy, and if you neglect them for too long they can get sick.
