Photo mode
On PC press F7 to open photo mode, or F8 for a Quick Snap without opening it, then Space to take the picture. On controller, hold Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation to open the radial menu and pick Snap. There are three camera modes: Creative, Selfie and Follow. Photos count for the daily task, Field Notes, the Who's That Aniimo? event and two achievements.

Time Stop freezes characters but not the weather.

Unlocking and saving
Photo mode opens after the prologue, once you reach the first Outpost in Idyll. Photos go to the Album: only 50 are kept in cloud storage and the rest stay on your device. An Ultra Graphics toggle at the top of photo mode briefly applies the best visual settings for the shot.
What photos are for
- The daily task Take a photo featuring an Aniimo.
- Field Notes research tasks.
- The Who's That Aniimo? event, which runs on photos of Aniimo that share a trait.
- The achievement In the Same Frame: a photo with your Aniimo by your side.
- The achievement Friends in Focus: a photo with a friend in the Photo Studio.
