Transmogrify

Transmogrify restyles a Legendary Aniimo and leaves its stats alone, which today means Somniwing or Irisalis, the only two Legendaries. There is no separate menu or NPC: you reach it from that Aniimo's own interface. It runs on Radiant Dreamshadow, a premium currency that does two jobs at once, filling a Transmog bar to unlock cosmetic slots as your total spend climbs, and paying for each reroll.
What your spending unlocks
| Slot | Total spend to unlock | What it opens |
|---|---|---|
| Wings | 14 Radiant Dreamshadow | Base colour palettes and custom wing styles |
| Headwear | 37 Radiant Dreamshadow | Head accessories and physical traits |
| Body | 69 Radiant Dreamshadow | Main body patterns and visual traits |
| Sparkling | 110 Radiant Dreamshadow | Aura and particle glow effects, and with it every slot |
Cumulative, not per slot: the numbers are your running total, so 110 in all opens everything. The Sparkling slot is a visual effects category.
What a reroll costs
| Slots locked | Cost per roll |
|---|---|
| None | 1 Radiant Dreamshadow |
| One | 2 Radiant Dreamshadow |
| Two | 4 Radiant Dreamshadow |
| Three, the maximum | 8 Radiant Dreamshadow |
Locking a slot keeps the trait you like while the rest rerolls, and doubles the price each time. Three locks is the cap, and the Sparkling slot cannot be locked at all.
How to play it
- Unlock every category before you lock anything, because a lock multiplies the price of every roll after it.
- Roll at the base cost of one Radiant Dreamshadow to chase the traits that are hardest to get.
- Lock only once you have something worth protecting, and remember the cost doubles with each lock.
- Save a combination you like into a preset. Irisalis has five presets, up from three on 30 September, and a preset is the only way back to an earlier look.
How long a full unlock takes
The only known source of Radiant Dreamshadow is the Advanced Companion Handbook, the paid battle pass track, which pays one at level 35 and one at level 65. That is two a season.
Unlocking every slot costs 110, which at two a season would take fifty five seasons. Unless another source of Radiant Dreamshadow appears, a full unlock is out of reach.
The second item, Glimmering Driftshadow
There is a secondary item alongside the currency. Glimmering Driftshadow works on certain parts only, cannot be used while any slot is still locked, and gives no progress on the Transmog bar.
The catch is priority. If you are holding both, the Glimmering Driftshadow is spent first, so a roll you meant to put toward the bar may not count toward it. Which parts it covers, what it costs and where it comes from are all undocumented.
The two Legendary Aniimo this applies to
| Aniimo | Number | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Somniwing | No. 30 | Accumulate 180 points in the Path of Twining Elite Program. Free |
| Irisalis | No. S1-F | Collect 99 Irisalis Petals, craft the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis and complete the encounter in the Rift Space it opens. Befriending Irisalis unlocks its Transmog |
Legendary Aniimo cannot be caught in the wild or reached by evolution, which is why owning one is the only gate on Transmogrify. No level, title or story requirement is stated anywhere.
What Transmogrify is not
Three nearby systems get confused with it. Accessories are separate: in the Appearance menu's Aniimo tab you pick a creature, give it an accessory and use Adjust to move it around, and that works on any Aniimo. Morph Orbs are separate again and go the other way, turning your Pathfinder into an Aniimo form. The February update added basic Aniimo forms to the transformable options.
Your own character's looks are a third thing, paid for with Redesign Cards and Hair Saloon Cards rather than Radiant Dreamshadow.

Transmogrify, answered
What does Transmogrify do in Aniimo?
It changes how a Legendary Aniimo looks without affecting its stats, so you can keep the gear you want for numbers and still choose the appearance. It is reached from that Aniimo's own interface rather than a shop or NPC.
Which Aniimo can be transmogrified?
Legendary ones only. Today that means Somniwing, free at 180 points in the Path of Twining Elite Program, and Irisalis, which you meet by crafting the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis from 99 Irisalis Petals.
What currency does Transmogrify use?
Radiant Dreamshadow, a premium currency. The same spending unlocks cosmetic slots as your total climbs and pays for each reroll, and a secondary item called Glimmering Driftshadow covers certain parts without adding bar progress.
How much does it cost to unlock everything?
110 Radiant Dreamshadow in total, cumulatively: Wings at 14, Headwear at 37, Body at 69 and Sparkling at 110.
Why do Transmogrify rerolls get more expensive?
Each locked slot doubles the price. One Radiant Dreamshadow with nothing locked, then 2, 4 and 8 with one, two and three locks. Three is the maximum and the Sparkling slot cannot be locked.
Is Transmogrify reversible in Aniimo?
Not directly. Save a look into a preset before you roll again, and you can always return to it. Irisalis has five presets.
