Breeding and Inherit

Emberpup, moving, official art
The short answer

Aniimo has no two parent breeding. There is no pairing menu, no breeding facility, no timer and no offspring formula. What players mean by breeding is one of two other systems. Inherit moves a trained Aniimo's progress onto a better copy for 20,000 Credits, and it is a swap rather than a sacrifice: the source is not consumed, it simply drops to the recipient's old state. Eggs are the offspring channel, and every guarantee lives in the egg and the Aniipod you hatch it with, never in a parent.

There is no Day Care

Eggs come from nests, rewards and RV dispatches. There is no way to pair two Aniimo, and no facility to do it in.

The closest thing is the RV dispatch, which can bring back Aniimo eggs with the Prismana trait. That is a dispatch reward, not a parent passing anything on.

Inherit: cost, access and the rules

FieldValue
Cost20,000 Credits, paid at the confirm step
DirectionFully developed source to less developed recipient, never the other way
Family ruleSame family only, for example Emberpup, Flameruff, Scorchhowl and Inferlupa
Party ruleThe source cannot be in your Combat or Exploration party
Effect on the sourceNot consumed. It drops to the recipient's former state
One documented exceptionBasic Irisalis may act as the source for a recipient of another family

Run an Inherit

  1. Take the trained Aniimo out of your Combat and Exploration parties.
  2. Open Aniimo Management and hover the Aniimo you want to take the stats from.
  3. Open the tab marked with an exclamation mark and choose Inherit.
  4. Press the plus icon on the right to pick the recipient.
  5. Confirm and pay 20,000 Credits.

Why this is a swap, not a sacrifice

The wording matters if you were about to release something. The Aniimo that gave up its stats receives the recipient's old stats in exchange, so the two profiles trade places rather than one being destroyed. You keep both creatures.

That makes Inherit the right move when you catch a better copy of something you have already poured levels into: a Perfect Potential catch does not mean starting again. What does not come across is the innate roll itself, so a Common catch stays a Common catch no matter how much you move onto it.

Where the guarantees actually live

In the egg and in the Aniipod you hatch it with. An Incredible Egg guarantees Elite Potential or higher on its own. A Sparkling Egg guarantees the mutation but promises nothing about Potential. Hatch a Sparkling Egg with an Aniipod Ultra and you add the Elite floor; hatch it with a Sparkling Cube and you get Perfect.

Species is usually the egg's business too, since many eggs are species locked: an Alpha Bolty Egg hatches an Alpha Bolty. Element and role are rolled at hatch, and nothing passes either one on.

The eggs themselves

The eggs guideEvery egg type, what each one guarantees, which Aniipod to hatch with, and how long it takes.
Watch out

Releasing an Aniimo is irreversible, and there is no word on whether an Inherit can be undone. Treat it as permanent until the game shows otherwise.

Not confirmed yet

  • Whether a two parent breeding system exists at all. No trusted source documents a facility, menu, cost, timer or pairing rule.
  • Whether Inherit can be reversed, run again in the opposite direction, or is limited per day.
  • Whether held items, held item contracts, skill point investment or Capability Awakening progress move with an Inherit.
  • Whether Sparkling, Prismana, Alpha or Umbral status is affected by an Inherit in either direction.
  • Whether a Legendary Aniimo can be an Inherit source or recipient at all.
  • Whether Inherit has any level, title or story gate. None is stated anywhere.

Breeding and Inherit, answered

Can you breed Aniimo?

No. There is no way to pair two Aniimo, no breeding facility, no timer and no offspring formula. Eggs come from nests, rewards, events and RV dispatches, and the guarantees are in the egg rather than a parent.

What does Inherit do in Aniimo?

It moves a trained Aniimo's progress onto a less developed one of the same family: experience, levels, Resonance stage, star rank, Capafruit effects and Acquired Potential. It costs 20,000 Credits.

Does Inherit destroy the source Aniimo?

No. It is a swap. The source keeps existing and takes on the recipient's old state, so you still have both creatures afterwards.

Can you Inherit between different species?

Only within the same family, for example Emberpup, Flameruff, Scorchhowl and Inferlupa. One exception, that a basic Irisalis can act as the source for a recipient of another family, and no other source repeats it.

Do Sparkling Aniimo pass Sparkling on to their offspring?

Not in any way that has been documented. The only claim to that effect names no facility or method. The reliable routes to a Sparkling are a Sparkling Egg, a Sparkling Cube or ten Sparkling Sigils.

Does personality transfer with Inherit?

No. Personality stays with the creature and is rerolled with a Psyche Fruit instead. Skills and the innate Potential roll do not transfer either.

How much does Inherit cost in Aniimo?

20,000 Credits per inheritance, paid when you confirm. The source Aniimo also has to be out of your Combat and Exploration parties first.
