Potential
Potential rates how good one caught Aniimo's stats are compared with other copies of the same species, attribute by attribute. It is set when you catch or hatch it, and part of it can be raised later with Capability Awakening. The only sure ways to Perfect Potential are a Sparkling Cube, an Umbral Aniimo, or an egg that promises it; an Aniipod Ultra guarantees only Elite or better. When a better copy turns up, Inherit moves your training onto it for 20,000 Credits.
How Potential works
There are two layers. Innate Potential is fixed the moment you catch or hatch the Aniimo. Acquired Potential can be raised afterwards through training.
It is tracked separately for each of six attributes: HP, BREAK, ATK, M.DEF, P.DEF and REGEN, on a scale that runs to 10.
From lowest to highest, the ratings are Common, Good, Elite and Perfect.

- Catch the Aniimo.
- Fast travel to an outpost and use the Research Console.
- Upload your catch report.
- Each catch now shows its rating.

Guarantees do not stack: an Incredible Egg hatched with an Aniipod Ultra is still only guaranteed Elite. Only a Sparkling Cube lifts the minimum to Perfect.
Save Sparkling Cubes for Aniimo you will keep for good. A Sparkling Cube always catches, always makes the Aniimo Sparkling, and always gives Perfect Potential.
Raise Potential after catching
- Open Aniimo Management and select the Aniimo.
- Use Capability Awakening with Star Dust, Star Sand or Starcryst Essence to raise its Acquired Potential.
- Optionally feed it one Capafruit: +1 Innate Potential to all six attributes. Each Aniimo can eat only one.
- While the Aniimo is below level 60 you can reset Capability Awakening and get the items back.

Move your training to a better copy
- Take the trained Aniimo out of your Combat and Exploration parties.
- In Aniimo Management, open the trained Aniimo's options and choose Inherit.
- Pick the new Aniimo. It must be from the same family and less developed.
- Confirm and pay 20,000 Credits. Levels, Resonance, star rank, Capafruit and Acquired Potential all move across.
Stars, Resonance and personality are separate
Star ratings belong to Resonance, not Potential. Resonance Star-Up spends Dewdrop Crystals, such as the Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal, and reaching six stars unlocks the achievement Six-Star Supremacy.
Sparkling is a look, not a stat: a Sparkling Aniimo can still have Common Potential.
Every Aniimo also has a four-letter personality, such as ENFJ. Each letter adds a small bonus, and a Psyche Fruit rerolls it.

Each Aniimo has one letter from each pair: E or I, S or N, T or F, J or P, which is why players call these the MBTI personalities. A Psyche Fruit rerolls the whole set.
When Potential gates an evolution
A few evolutions check Potential: Helmwhelp needs a Perfect rating to become Infergon, and Chirpi to Tromber or Tubster, and Eko to Eklue, need one attribute at 6 or higher.

Does Sparkling change stats?
No. Sparkling is a separate, cosmetic mutation. A Sparkling Aniimo can have any Potential unless it was caught with a Sparkling Cube.
