Materials and gathering

Budclaw, moving, official art
The short answer

Aniimo has no gathering tools. There is no pickaxe, no axe and no fishing rod in any source we trust. Out in the world you walk up to a node and take it, and the difficulty is reaching it, which is what Aniimo mobility is for. Everything else arrives one of two other ways: your Homeland plots produce raw goods on a timer, and a set of Home Materials is locked to one region each and can only be brought home by sending Aniimo out on a Trip. What you collect feeds five sinks: RV upgrades, building materials, evolution, Resonance star ups and Home Coins.

The three places materials come from

  • The world. Nodes you walk up to and pick up. Grab the shiny things you pass, because they drop what upgrades your RV and home.
  • Your Homeland. Farmland grows crops, Woodland grows Willow Wood, and a Mineral Pile is mined for Rock. Woodland and Mineral Piles also leave byproducts, Wood Block and Mineral Sand, which upgrade the RV and its components or exchange for building materials.
  • Aniimo Trips, the dispatch system. Home Materials come from Homeland Aniimo Trips, and eleven of them cannot be got any other way.

Each one's item text reads the same way: unique to that region, send Aniimo to gather it near the RV Park in this area. Turtleback Ore is the odd one out: its item text says dispatch only, but six have also been counted as world pickups in Blitzwood. Flufftail Grass and Stardust Agate are the least certain entries here.

Finding a node on the map

The map has a layer per material, and the trick is to turn exactly one on. Switch on the material you want and leave every other layer off, so a single cluster stands out instead of a wall of pins.

Only one region has published counts. Blitzwood carries 53 Orange Cap points, more than any other named loop in Breezy Plains, plus 51 Sunny Daisy and six Turtleback Ore. Beast Fang Ridge is the counterpart cluster and leans toward Sunny Daisy, Lunar Daisy and Azur Grass, with no counts published.

Treat all of that as where nodes sit rather than what you will get. Marker counts are not yields, not refresh timing, and not a promise about what is in your world right now.

The materials that double as money

  • Orange Cap is an Evolution Material that dismantles for 20 Home Coin, and can be sold from your inventory or at the Homeland Co-op Store.
  • Home Coin only spends at GoGoHomes, on plots, production facilities and RV upgrades. A balance buys nothing outside the Homeland.
  • Bud Tickets sit alongside it at the same shop and buy furniture rather than function.
  • Daily orders are the other outlet: deliver the crop or material asked for and take Home Coins back.

The world currencies that are not money

Three things you gather look like currency and behave differently. Lumin Amber is turned in at a region's Branch, and enhancing that Branch raises the catch rate there, lets you change the weather and raises the Sparkling rate.

Vein Essence is the Nurture offering: pure Vein energy that a Branch absorbs to attract Aniimo. You get three free Nurtures a day that replenish over time before any Vein Essence is spent, and Nurture only opens in a region once your collection progress there reaches 40 percent. The daily three do not roll over.

Dewdrop Crystals are region keyed Resonance materials, not a shop currency. A Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal is spent on Resonance star ups, and its item text ties it to the Vein energy of that specific region.

Tip

Alpha Aniimo are the fastest repeatable material source in the game. The encounter respawns about every 20 seconds, so you can keep going without leaving and re-entering the area.

Not confirmed yet

  • Respawn timers for world nodes.
  • How much a single node yields, for any material.
  • Node counts for any region other than Blitzwood.
  • Whether Aniimo has fishing at all. Nothing documents one and the full map legend has no fishing category, but absence is not proof.
  • What Stump and Dirt Mound actually are, beyond being where Wood Block and Mineral Sand come from.
  • The exchange rate for turning Wood Block or Mineral Sand into building materials.
  • Which materials each RV level consumes above Level 3.
  • Whether any material is gated to a weather state or a time of day. Weather and the day and night cycle are documented as gating Aniimo spawns, not materials.

Materials, answered

Is there fishing in Aniimo?

No. There is no rod or fishing system, and the version 1.0 map legend has no fishing category among its point types.

Do you need a pickaxe to gather in Aniimo?

No. There are no gathering tools at all. You pick nodes up directly, and the difficulty is reaching them, which is what your Aniimo's mobility is for.

Where do you get Orange Caps in Aniimo?

Blitzwood in Breezy Plains has 53 Orange Cap points, more than any other named loop. Switch on the Orange Cap map layer and turn the others off so the cluster is readable.

How do you get region locked Home Materials?

Send Aniimo out on a Trip near the RV Park in that region. Eleven Home Materials carry item text saying they are unique to one area and gathered that way, so no amount of walking will find them.

Do gathering nodes respawn in Aniimo?

The game shows no respawn timer for gathering nodes. The node counts on the map tell you where nodes sit, not how often they refresh or what they give.

What is the fastest way to farm materials in Aniimo?

Alpha Aniimo. The encounter respawns roughly every 20 seconds, so you can repeat it without leaving and re-entering the area, and it also pays held items.

What are Home Coins for?

Plots, production facilities and RV upgrades at GoGoHomes, and nothing outside the Homeland. You earn them by selling or dismantling crops and materials and by filling daily orders.
