Resonance and stars

Resonance is the star system that raises an Aniimo's stats and lifts its level ceiling toward 60. It has two halves: Star-Up fills the six stars inside a stage with regional Dewdrop Crystals, and Ascension moves to the next stage once all six are full and the Aniimo meets that stage's level requirement. It unlocks at the Intermediate Student title, after the Dewdrop Crystal story mission and Dr. Lewis's quiz, and nothing you spend can be refunded.
Unlock it
- Reach the Intermediate Student title.
- Play the Dewdrop Crystal story mission, Promotion: Dewdrop Crystal's Resonance.
- Answer Dr. Lewis's quiz when he tests you on it.
- Open Aniimo Management, pick the Aniimo and choose Training.
The six Star-Up positions
| Star | Dewdrop Crystals | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | ATK +10, BREAK +5 |
| 2 | 25 | P.DEF +5, M.DEF +5 |
| 3 | 30 | HP +320, REGEN +8 |
| 4 | 40 | P.DEF +5, M.DEF +5 |
| 5 | 50 | ATK +10, BREAK +5 |
| 6 | 60 | HP +320, REGEN +8 |
The pattern repeats through each stage.
Ascension
Once all six stars in a stage are filled and the Aniimo has reached that stage's minimum level, you can Ascend. Ascension gives a broader boost than a single Star-Up, and it needs that Aniimo's assigned Elemental Stone, with a Flux Crystal as the universal substitute.
Later Ascensions also want Astranite, matched to level bands: Basic for levels 20 to 30, Standard for 40 to 50 and Advanced for 54 to 60. The final steps additionally ask for Omnisource Crystal.
What each material is for
| Material | Used for | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Dewdrop Crystal, by region | Every Star-Up | Exploring, chests and Alphas of the same type. Catching Aniimo does not give it |
| Assigned Elemental Stone | Ascending a stage | Specific to the Aniimo |
| Flux Crystal | A universal stand-in for that stone | General sources, including the Stamp Shop |
| Astranite, three tiers | Later upgrades, by level band | Chests, Alphas and Omegas, Elite Training, Pathfinder Challenges, shops, the Companion Handbook |
| Omnisource Crystal | The last Ascensions only | Not recorded |
Resonance cannot be refunded. Star up the Aniimo you intend to keep, and use Inherit to move training onto a better copy before you invest further.
